Secure Mi Vote Committee, Liberty Initiative Fund V. Let the Voters Decide, Llc
Case Overview
Lawsuit Filed Today Against George Soros-Funded Let the Voters Decide for Preventing Voter ID Ballot Initiative in Michigan
Orlando, Fl. – The Dhillon Law Group announced today the filing of a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, on behalf of plaintiffs Secure MI Vote Committee and Liberty Initiative Fund (Liberty) against George Soros-funded Let the Voters Decide, LLC.
The lawsuit alleges that LTVD, in collusion with its principal, Mark Jacoby, engaged in unlawful and anticompetitive practices to prevent Secure from obtaining the necessary petition drive management and signature gathering services required to qualify a ballot measure for the 2022 election.
“This lawsuit exposes the illicit tactics used by LTVD and its Soros-backed supporters to undermine the democratic process in Michigan,” said Dhillon Law Group Partner, Michael Columbo. “Secure MI Vote Committee and Liberty Initiative Fund were denied their right to present a ballot measure advocating for commonsense election law reforms, including voter identification requirements.”
The complaint asserts that LTVD organized and enforced a series of unlawful group boycotts, involving its competitors, to foreclose Secure from access to essential services. This resulted in the failure to qualify Secure’s ballot measure for the 2022 election and inflated the costs of the petition drive management and signature gathering services.
“We are committed to seeking justice for our clients and ensuring that similar anticompetitive practices are not allowed to corrupt our electoral processes in the future,” Columbo said.
The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages, declaratory and injunctive relief under the antitrust laws of the United States, and similar relief under state law.
