Layla Jane v. Kaiser Hospital Foundation, Inc.
The Dhillon Law Group and LiMandri & Jonna LLP, in conjunction with the Center for American Liberty, filed suit against Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Inc., The Permanente Medical Group, and various doctors who performed, supervised, and/or advised transgender hormone therapy and surgical intervention for Layla Jane when she was between 12-17 years old.
“The law says children aren’t mature enough to make serious decisions that could have long lasting consequences like getting a tattoo, driving with friends, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, or even voting. So why is it acceptable for 13-year-olds to decide to mutilate their body?”

The medical providers responsible for Layla's case, along with countless others, have substituted woke ideology for medically accepted standards of care, including lying to and manipulating vulnerable patients and families. We are committed to holding them accountable for the harm inflicted upon Layla, and together we intend to strongly deter Kaiser’s factory-line approach that permanently mutilates an unknown number of American children, subjecting them to a lifetime of harm, regret, and medical consequences.”
Background
Layla Jane is a biological female who sought mental health treatment at age 12 for various emotional and behavioral issues. Various Kaiser doctors, rather than give Layla Jane the care she needed, seized on her confusion about her gender and placed her on the “gender affirming care” pipeline with a series of damaging transgender treatments, including off-label puberty and cross-sex hormones. Layla Jane’s doctors removed her breasts when she was just 13 years old.
While Layla Jane sought care from Kaiser, Kaiser’s doctors failed to provide Layla Jane with the kind of counseling and treatment that would have helped address her underlying conditions. Instead, Kaiser’s doctors betrayed their oath to do no wrong and handed the prescription pad over to Layla Jane, letting a child who was not in a position to understand the lifelong consequences of the transgender treatments she received make irreversible decisions.
Had Kaiser’s doctors treated Layla Jane in line with the standard of care, Layla Jane would likely be one of many thriving women who experienced emotional troubles during adolescence. Instead, Layla Jane will spend the rest of her life dealing with the lingering side effects and health consequences of her doctors’ efforts to change her gender before she was old enough to drive a car.
Layla Jane will be seeking punitive damages based on the evidence of malice, oppression and fraud.
