Harmeet Dhillon discusses breaking news regarding a lawsuit filed, detailing Facebook and Google violating campaign finance regulations.
According to Dhillon:
They just filed lawsuit today details campaign finance violations going back to 2013, so for several years, apparently, these platforms have been flouting the campaign finance law of the state and the watchword of campaign finance regulation is transparency. Obviously, transparency is not there when you don’t know whose paying for the ads, this is a big problem in our California election tomorrow and ultimately what we’ve seen is these companies often are treating themselves as too big to have to follow the law like every other newspaper and every other publisher and this is ultimately unacceptable and obviously we’re going to need to hold them accountable so I’m glad to see this happening in Washington.
