Harmeet Dhillon Appears on ‘Fox News @Night’ To Discuss the Mueller Investigation, Michael Cohen
According to Dhillon:
You can only get the president’s testimony if he’s the only person and it’s the only way to get that testimony. I don’t think a case has been shown for that. The areas of focus so far have been alleged obstruction of justice in firing James Comey, which he absolutely has the right to do under article 2 of the constitution. And then what did he know about this nothing burger meeting in Trump Tower? Did he know about it beforehand or not? They’ve already got testimony on that. They can’t show a compelling need. I don’t think they can win the subpoena battle. I think the conditions that are being put on this from what we can glean from the different interviews here are probably a deadline and narrow scope, and these are probably in conjunction, conditions with the special counsel may not be willing to accept.

Trump should follow his lawyers’ advice. Clearly the president is a force of nature and he’s going to have his own opinion, but I think I’ve seen it time and time again in my 25 years of practice, nobody is capable of really outwitting a prosecutor who wants to lay a perjury trap and is determined to do that and to get the kill, and that head for the trophy wall. Would be a big mistake for the president to ignore legal advice on this.
