In reaction to President Donald Trump’s recent actions related to immigration, especially his recent ban on refugees as well as on travel from certain Muslim-majority countries, a California state senator is calling for Melania Trump’s immigration records.
State Sen. Nancy Skinner of Berkeley made the call last week, along with Senate Pro Tem Kevin de Leon and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, citing a finding from an AP investigation last November that Melania did not have proper work visas when she came to this country to work as a model.
“No one in the Trump operation has released any of the documentation to indicate what was the circumstance, or whether she had full legal status,’’ Skinner told Politico California in an interview. “We only know they had a lawyer look at whatever papers she chose to give.”
