Harmeet Dhillon, Republican National Committeewoman from California, said in a satellite interview from San Francisco, that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy from Bakersfield urged the President to make the endorsement.
According to Dhillon:
“Kevin McCarthy has the President’s ear, and I’m sure this decision was taken with the Leader’s input. Clearly, it’s going to create more enthusiasm for Republican voters in November, which will help our Congressional candidates as well as everyone down the ticket.”
