SAN DIEGO — The Republican Party’s chances of holding onto the House may have taken a hit over the weekend, thanks to the California GOP’s inability to rally around one of its two main candidates for governor.

The party’s problem: It’s already unlikely to have a candidate for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat on the November general election ballot, and the failure of delegates at the state GOP convention here to endorse either Assemblyman Travis Allen or businessman John Cox for governor hurts both candidates’ chances of surviving the June 5 top-two primary.
